Hi, my name is Steven James Wonegeshik, I am a self taught Native American Artist. I am a member of the Odawa tribe from Michigan. I changed my name from my adopted name (Sells) back to my family's Indian name (Wonegeshik)a few years ago. You will notice some of my work still carrys the earlier name. I am fairly new to the Internet part of selling my work. I have been into art since I was very young. Teachers used to take drawings away from me in class and throw them away. After awhile they would still take them away but they would save them and return them to me after school. I would like to see a room with every drawing and painting I've ever done hanging on all the walls. I am a former Lt. Firefighter-EMT for my Tribe's Fire-Rescue Dept. This may explain my interest and the heart behind some of my work especially "FDNY Tribute". I also did the artwork in the center of the logo for my Tribal Fire Dept.
