Bonnie Latham, an artist in her twenties, began her art career at a very young age. Inspired by her creative family and their love of the outdoors, she paints nature, landscape, animals, birds, and the occasional portrait. She works in watercolour, acrylic, oil, inks, graphite/charcoal and others, however watercolours have become her medium of choice. She achieves a unique quality of depth and shape in her work, drawing the viewer into her paintings. Bonnie works in a assortment of sizes and formats, ranging from larger Miniature paintings to very small works rendered less than one square inch. Bonnie's work is in many private collections across the United States and Australia.

~ The original meaning of the term miniature refers to technique and not size - it means to paint very detailed. Often it's called painting "in miniature" and it has been stated that a piece of art that is as large as a wall could be painted in miniature. NEWA was conceived in 1994 by a group of artists interested in depicting wildlife, with conservation as one of their underlying concerns. 2006 - Arts for the Parks (Jackson, WY) Bonnie's artwork was featured in the Arts for the Parks Mini 100, along with her family's paintings, for two consecutive years (2005-06).
Created in 1986 by the National Park Academy of the Arts, works for the ARTS FOR THE PARKS Top 100 and Mini 100 exhibits are selected by renowned jurors. Awards and the prestige of being a top artist in this renowned competition, draw artists from all over the world. The winners are chosen from over 2,000 entries. The winners are represented in an exhibition of paintings from what has been called "the richest art competition in our nation's history."
2004 - Award of Excellence - International Miniature Art Exhibition Bonnie was awarded an Award of Excellence for her miniature work at the Papermill International Miniature Art Exhibition in Millburn, NJ. Approx. 700 miniature paintings are exhibited in the show every year with less than 20 of them given awards.

2000 - Federal Junior Duck Stamp 1st Place National Winner
http://www.fws.gov/juniorduck/stamps/2000jrstamp.htm Bonnie's design was awarded 1st in the US Fish and Wildlife Service's Federal Junior Duck Stamp program and was honored in Washington, D.C. for her achievement at the National Press Club, Smithsonian, Department of the Interior, and other locations as well as having her work included on the national tour. Her painting is featured on the 2000-2001 Federal Junior Duck Stamp. "The Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Program is a dynamic, art and science program designed to teach wetlands habitat and waterfowl conservation to students in kindergarten through high school. The program guides students, using scientific and wildlife observation principles, to communicate visually what they have learned through an entry into the Junior Duck Stamp art contest. This non-traditional pairing of subjects brings new interest to both the sciences and the arts. It crosses cultural, ethnic, social, and geographic boundaries to teach greater awareness of our nation's natural resources." In the Minnesota Junior Duck Stamp, Bonnie was also awarded honors in previous years.
