Brought up in Newcastle, England, live in Edinburgh but travel to Albany in Western Australia most years to stay with friends. I have never trained as an artist, but I have been an artist all my life. Specialise in trompe l'oeil, wildlife, animal portraits, murals, cartoons, landscapes, wood graining, marbling, using a variety of mediums, though mostly pastels, water based paints, pencil, oils and water colours.
I travel between Scotland and Australia painting commissioned murals (just ask me and I'll be there :o) but will go anywhere. Also trained sign writer (by hand) and classical guitarist, photographer and pranic healer.
Currently writing two books, one an illustrated children's book, the other a guide books for children and adults on how to do ANYTHING ...
I can also visit primary and secondary schools, running workshops and talks on all kinds of art, techniques and working with young people to inspire and nurture their creative instincts.
I am friends with and work with Rob Daniel (Danny) in Albany who is a children's author, and runs creative writing, memory and self-esteem workshops in primary schools. Dave McCleery is also a good mate, and we both covered Danny's Backpackers walls with murals in the early 1990's, althout we didn't meet in person until four years ago!
