There had been a lot of rain when I walked this route through Sutton Park so this is a flooded path rather than a stream but I'm always glad of water for casting their reflections - they always add something extra to a painting. I almost lost my wellies before I emerged the other side of the wet and started the trudge back to the car. I added the rocks and stones along the water's edge - they're not in the reference photo but I always find they help define better where water meets land as well as bring extra interest and texture to the scene. I've exaggerated some of the colours to add interest and contrasted the darker shadowy foreground with the light and airy background. I brushed in the little man and his dog to provide a focal point.

... well of course ... that's why it's a watercolor and not a photograph. We call the shots, compose the painting and bend it to our will. Nice work.
