Bonham State Park in far north Texas was the site of a live raptor exhibition. Doris Mager travels far and wide with Cara, owls, falcons and other birds of prey. This fascinating bird of tropical regions (including parts of Texas) has been with her for more than 27 years, touring the country to educate young people in particular about the habits and characteristics of raptors. She has rescued many injured birds and those that are able are returned to the wild. Also called Mexican Eagle, caracara eat carrion as well as live prey. This one is so imprinted, it loves to have the back of the head stroked.
