©Seth F. Weaver, Sr. 01/26/11. It was a warm July 1st day in the small town of Gettysburg when the noble sons of America gathered on the field of honor. The Confederates were desperate looking for shoes, food, and anything they could use to fight a war that many didn’t understand. This battle over three days was the most costliest battle of the Civil War. The total casualties for the entire war as 620,000 dead. Over the three days in Gettysburg there were 51,000 casualties, the Confederates lost 28,000. A war started by wealthy politicians and merchants, fought by poor young men(some in their teens) and elderly patriots that thought that this was the right thing for them and their country. An unforgettable bloody moment fought between a nations brothers that will live on in our spirit. This is a manipulated black and white photo.
