Therapeutic drawing done of my husband. Graphite on bristol vellum. Some people have asked what I mean when I say this was therapeutic. My husband was away in Iraq when I drew this and I poured my soul into it for two days. Watching his smiling face emerge from the paper made me feel connected to him despite the thousands of miles between us. For the months that followed I kept this drawing facing my bed where I would wake and see him. My baby boy knew his daddy's face because of this same picture.
