A depiction of RAF Khormaksar and principally No43sqn Hawker Hunter FGA.9’s and the ground crews who kept them flying. In the mid 1960s, during operations around the Rhadfan, the station reached a peak of activity. No 43sqn reacting to terrorists activity in the region built a reputation for accuracy and fast turnaround. Ground crew played a crucial role in making this possible. Also depicted are the ancillary and supporting units of the squadron including desert rescue Landrovers, Belvedere helicopters, Beverly transport planes and two seat T7 Hunter trainers.
