A boiling ground ! This is Seltun which is near Kleifarvatn (my last upload photo ) There is a high-temperature geothermal area with mud pots and steam vents. At a depth of 1000 m,the temperature is above 200 o C. The steam vents are surrounded by considerable sulfur deposits, which in earlier time were exploited for the production of gunpowder. Here solfataras, fumaroles, mud pots and hot springs have formed, the soil is colored bright yellow, red, and green hues. Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking and commenting. Have a great day !
