This is a color pencil painting of a shady scene showing empty, weathered rocking chairs and garden hand tools in the foreground. In the mid ground is an old potting station filled with empty pots. The major light source is the sun showing through the tree leaves that form the background of the painting. The peice is done with Prismacolor Verithin pencils on a high performance polyester film that allows application of color to both sides of the film. The dimensions of this painting are 8 X 10 inches.

Love this piece,...detail lines, colors and unity all rapped up in a beautiful masterpiece. Your usage of color pencils is so amazing, my friend!!

Artist Reply: Mark: Thanks so much! I was drawn to this scene because of the way the sun light came through the tree leaves. We also garden and the empty pots spoke to me! Have a great day. Best regards, Will

Love this Uplifting and Very creative composition!

Artist Reply: John: thank you so much. This scene just spoke to my wife and me. We do flower gardening and have a soft spot for empy pots. Have a great week. Best regards, Will

Love it, such a warm look.

Artist Reply: James: thank you but once again! I found this scene to be quite peaceful and meaningful. Both my wife and I are gardeners (mainly my wife) and when we see empy pots we actually do think that they should be filled. We also like chairs like these and naturally want to fill them ourselves. I'm glad that the piece also speaks to you. Again, best regards, Will

Fabulous, Will !! You did a perfect job with this colored drawing !!! So many details, all the work on the perspective, this is just fantastic!!!!

Artist Reply: Marie-Claire: thank you so much for such a lovely comment. We do quite a bit of gardening in both our front and back yard. This scene spoke to both me and my wife, who is actually the real gardener. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. All the empty pots need to be filled with beautiful flowers like you place in your amazing photographs. Best regards, Will

Artist Reply: Dee & David: thank you so much for your generous comments. I very much appreciate your taking the time to view my work and especially in your commenting. I really do admire your beautiful photography! I strive to acheive photorealism in my colored pencil paintings and I do base my paintings on photographs my wife takes. I'm a retired gross anatomy professor and detail has always been my thing. I guess it's also reflected in my art. Thanks again for your comments. Have a great summer. Regards, Will
