I'm self-taught and am a retired university biology professor. I taught for 31 years and dabbled in colored pencil for a long time part-time, as we all say prior to retirement. Perhaps a little artistic talent is required, but actually I believe that it is the Dura-lar polyester film surface that I work on that makes all the difference. This material is just great. I add color to both sides of the film. Both surfaces are matte and will accept color easily. Thanks you again for being so kind. Best regards, Will

I have learned to be light handed with Prismacolor pencils, but I think that the final appearance of the pieces that I do are more a credit to the Dura-lar matte surfaced polyester film that I use. Thank you for the compliment on my work "Parham Road Barn." :-) This is excellent work you have here Will! I love the composition. Your pencil skills are quite impressive. I've been trying to ween myself off of my small brushes and use broad, bold strokes and much less detail. One watercolor style I like is by Bill Vrscak. His is the kind of style I'm shooting for in my future paintings. Keep up the excellent work!
