This picture depicts the sweet friendship between two men who are afflicted with microcephaly, a neurological disorder where the head and brain are abnormally small. These individuals sometimes are developmentally disabled and in the early part of the 20th century they were referred to as "pinheads" and often employed as “freaks” in sideshows. However, the sideshow gave them a purpose in life and the sideshow folk often became their family.
