These two Brown Pelicans begin to form a flying formation around dusk in Central Florida near the jetty at Ponce Inlet near Dunes Park at New Smyrna Beach. This image was a capture last winter and notice the bright object in the sky -- I think it is a contrail of a jet -- last year their were more Brown Pelicans each year according to my Audubon Birdwatcher's life list the numbers have been on a decline for the last five years. Nothing scientific about the data except going out and counting. Most experts agree it has more to do with a vanishing habitat and the bird move on. They still make a beautiful sight for sore eyes in the sky.
