BERHARI RAYA DI PERLIS. Memory in Perlis

Anuar's paintings celebrate the patterns, textures, and surfaces of rural life, calling our attention to the rich imagery that we too often overlook in our hectic daily migrations. His work captures moments of inadvertent beauty -- the spaces in between Malay houses, the peeling layers of advertisements, the erosion and decay of house facades. Paintings AnuarDan DISAPPEARING WORLD (Khazanah Yang Hilang) Kampung houses morphing into the sky dominated my Paintings a fade of rapidly disappearing life, told through muted tones of brown, black, orange and yellow design that are almost abstract, giving glimpses of a vanishing world abd declining art. Kampung houses and old buildings series, however, I have come into my own style the complex theme - deconstructed houses, intricate architectural detail overlaid on household implements shadowy peoples lucking, chatting, waiting in doorway - convays a sense of impermanence. Strongly vertical, the houses and buildings are surrounded by elongated doorways, cube and window, giving the impression that houses themselves are changing, that some time soon, they will have given way and become one of the increasingly ubiquitous skyscraper. The shadowy figures, ghost of people, emphasis this decline it isn't just building that are disappearing, but the way of life. I mixed together local artifacts and the Malay architecture to give rise to works depicting the Malay heritage. My experiment use of mixed media and the effects of aging that creates. Charm to my works. In the context of modern living my works are remainder of the day gone by. The quaint setting with bicycle in some of pieces bring back fond memories for many people. Thanks you.
