In 1959 my father had his driving licence back in Regina Saskatchewan in the fall, he knew how to drive and borrowed my uncles vehicle similar to the one you have shown here....On December 15-17? My parents and myself drove out to get a real tree, dad was proud as old hell coming back....but the ropes where not tied down and each corner he had to take the Northern Roads of the country like slow, each 10 miles the tree kept sliding left and right so a 30 mile drive there took 65 miles back....Mom was cold and so where Dad's hands...Mom kept saying each stop we made" &^%$# Merry Christmas John to Dad...he has passed a long time ago, but every christmas tree, from then on, Mom would say with a chuckle " Merry Christmas John and kiss in front of the five chldren!
