This is my whimsical version of a Koi fish, set against a background of crashing ocean waves, which is my version of the famous “Great Wave Off Kanagawa” painting by Japanese artist Hokusai. “Hoi polloi” is a term of Greek origin which means “the common people” or “the masses”; it doesn’t really relate that much to Koi fish, but I just loved the sound of the three words together.
