VINYL PASSIONS

The golden glow of nostalgia to me is the sheen on Vinyl. When I stream an old song, I remember precisely where the scratch on my record was on that same song as I played it on my Garrard turntable. Double, triple Gatefold album packaging had liner notes replete with booklets and posters. Unfortunately, the impermanence of Vinyl was short-lived due to warping and paint from my fingerprints embedded on the surface. The impermanence of youth is short-lived as well; wishing I was sprawled on the floor with these nubile ladies listening to the debut album of Santana!

brings back to so many ages ago. well done!

Artist Reply: Thank you Nikolay, I miss the art on album covers. We could hold music in our hands back then. The visual was just as important as the music
Artist Reply: Let's forget about Ukraine and discuss Russia. Why do you feel nostalgic about rock records like The Beatles and other rock music? These records were banned in your country(Soviet Union). Please tell me!
Artist Reply: This art displaying all the rock albums of my youth would mean nothing to you living in the soviet union back then.
Artist Reply: Listen to yourself!!!!!!! Your quote-"You can only jam or suppress a couple of radio transmissions in Russia but not across a huge country"! What a damning quote about your beloved country that will not allow its citizens to hear WORLD NEWS about their government. Putin treats his citizens like children who cannot handle the truth. That's all I wanted to read from you.....you live in a TOTALITARIAN COUNTRY. I pity you and your people. We can't help where we were born as we enter this world. I am so grateful that I was born in a country that allowed me to hear rock music as a teenager. I again thank you for liking my "Vinyl Passions" art. For you looking at my art, this is a fantasy that could never be. So sorry! I need to be honest with you., however, as a teenager, I was never on the floor with these nubile girls. I painted this art as a fantasy. So this is a fantasy for both of us but for different reasons.

Remarkable detailed artwork Peter. I can personally identify with your artwork here. You know the interest in buying record albums and record players is coming back- and young people are leading the way. I am of the Baby Boom generation, and I still have my old record player of 35 years, and numerous record albums and 45 RPM records of music from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s- that I still enjoy listening to. :)

Artist Reply: Thanks Vernonette. Sadly, I got rid of my albums since they sat in my Mom's garage for years. They warped due to humidity. Collectors bought the records for the album covers.
