Several years back I did both a drawing and an acrylic painting of an image with three beaks. I called it 'Triple Speak' with a reference to 1984's 'double-speak.' I was fiddling with ideas for another 3D piece and this one popped up with four beaks. It could have been 'quadruple speak' but I then settled on 'Beak Up' which sort of ties in to the original concept. I might not get this made during the winter months, but I can start it. This is an 8.5 by 5.5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on regular bond paper. It's something to upload the day before Thanksgiving here in northwest Austin, Texas.

Outstanding work, Charles ... love the detail and color Hope you have a good thanksgiving : )

Artist Reply: Thanks, Dave. This differs from the original sketch. In the original, I had one eye and two holes equidistant below. When I went to clean it up a bit and add color, I thought a 2nd eye and no third eye or hole worked best. Of course, I've not started the 3D version but it will mostly probably be without holes. Each beak gives 'the bird' a slightly different countenance, I think. You have a good T-Day also. :)

Tri-beaked Janus turkey, I thought Love the crown best. I hear the bird has been thanked for her long-term deed for the nation and thus forgiven and crowned, is that true? Enjoy your Thanksgiving event, Charles!

Artist Reply: It's difficult to know what's edible these days, Nikolay, with so many two-legged turkeys squawking about with dubious plumage. My 'event' will be, largely, uneventful today. Hope all is good with you and yours. :)
