I know the song but I heard the correct word, Dave. One of mine was Manfred Mann's Earth Band song "Blinded by the Light." I heard 'douche' instead of 'deuce.' Manfred had a lisp and an accent so my American ears filled in a sound-alike. Nice piece. Whatever she 'misheard' I don't think she liked it. :)
Artist Reply: Thanks Charles , there were quite a few back then. The Bacharach, Hal David song , performed by Herb Alpert was one that when I first heard it, I thought those were the actual lyrics . I liked the idea of the sky being in love : )
