It Is Finished

This painting is of the moment when Jesus died, just before the temple is torn in two, The landscape and sky reflect the anguish of His death on the cross. The clouds swirl around, creating a striking background. When I started this painting I wasn't sure how to bring the emotion of the moment forward. Once I laid in the bold oranges and reds, I knew I was onto something.
