To me, this is the epitome of what graphite drawing should be. Very photo-realistic, yes, but still obviously a drawing (at least up close lol). Her skin, eyes, mouth, hair, the dog's wiry muzzle and that glint peeking out from the one eye, all come together in a riveting composition. Kudos.
Artist Reply: Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments Marlene. While I love making images that have very realistic qualities to them I'm understanding more and more that it is good to show off the medium used as well. So your points are well taken.
Some of the best work I have ever seen, I was shocked to find that this is not a PHto. I admire this greatly and the subject is Priceless. Wow! GREAT is an understatement.
