Sitting Stefano

Painted in 2000, this is the portrait of my son Stefano at the age of five years. This is one of my earliest portrait I remember I decided to paint him in an unusual way, not dressed for the occasion, but casual (he was wearing a pyjamas). After this, I painted Marco on the red cushion, with the same choice of "casual" clothing.

Your paintings breath! They are so very well blended and highlighted and pure! Your portfolio AND your description of what painting is to you is the deepest and most profound I've known. I'm so glad to have found your works!

I have looked through all your works here on ArtWanted. You have a remarkable sense of capturing emotion of the individual. I have found this uniquely difficult in oil. Your colours are bright and your light effects realistic! Also hard to do in oil. You put just enough of the imaginary or human touch to distinguish from a photograph (varies as well), without reducing. Wonderful portfolio showing your talent.

Outstanding realism. The wrinkles are fantastic. The wood is what I love most, and the toy. Incredible.
