The Death Sentence.... now there's a sentence you better be 100% sure of. Ive never known any person who was always right except God.

Alberto D'Assumpcao 01 Dec 2005

Wonderful and ironic cartoon, Armando!

Quite frankly I do not want criminals out on the street where they can harm others, I don't care if they stay on Death Row forever, or in Prison forever. So long as justice is served, and the right person is caught.

To me your thoughts are very good Armando...but what about the people that rape, molest, torture and kill innocent little children by the thousands....sell them every day 40 times a day to be used by #@&ual perverts over and over when they are only maybe some 4 years old? Five dollars a Trick? They caught these predators with 400 hundred homeless parentless children from the recent Sunami on a barge trying to take them away for #@&ual slavery...These monsterous people abduct children off the streets every where every day...what about the people that rape, kill their victims and torture them for days and then eat their tiny little dead bodies ...there is more evil in the world then we can realize...I am sorry I am for death for these people...I can not make light of these things. It was written that God Grieved because of the desperately wicked hearts of men.... so wicked no one could know it...there are child sacrifices in cults to evil gods and there have been for centuries... And it is written they threw their children into the fire as sacrifices...God grieved because he created man! In my heart these horrible humans do not deserve to live for it has been proven that these people never change. I cry for these children all the time because I have seen it... because I am a survivor of this very thing and know the sorrow and heartache it causes. Entire lives are ruined forever and sometimes these tortures and evil hurts can never be healed no matter how hard the spirit trys...I try everyday to live and be strong but, it is very difficult for me to carry on. I am lucky I am here only by the Grace of God and his Loving Touch and the Miracle of his Call. I used to feel that forgiveness was the best Christian way...the way Christ would want us to be...but there seems to be no stopping these kind of hateful people other than their end. Christ said that if one should harm an innocent child it would be better for them to have a milestone hung around their neck and cast into the sea!!! Now if it were not for the Miracles of God, which some do not care to believe in, I would have ended my own pain by my own hand... many days ago. I do not know how I am still here. All the time I hurt and do not want to be...so please consider this when you think of all things My DEAR Armando! Love and Peace to you in all seasons... Sincerely Christine Brand

Artist Reply: Dear Chris: I understand perfectly your viewpoint. I think that penal servitude for life ("cadena perpetua" in Spanish; I'm not sure about translation) is a punishment enough. I thing the Death Penalty isn't for our occidental civilization. Death Penalty is only a LEGAL REVENGE. A criminal who is executed, RESTS, not SUFFERS. To be in jail THE WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE is a terrible pain, more than death. And we continue to be civilized. This is my viewpoint.

A great statement.

So sad to have to celebrate our death penalty milestone. Are we a civilized nation? Good work.
