Kitchen sink bath fun

This is a tradion in our family, at least for 5 generations. We give baths in the kitchen sinks where you can stand up while bathing the baby. We can all see the fun and enjoy the experience almost as much as the baby. My granddaughter sure didn't mind. It was worth all the puddles. I used my wacom tablet and pen, using Painter IX software to paint this portrait. I used a photo for referrence only so I could figure out the lighting and the bubbles. The bubbles drove me nuts, because I did them myself, instead of using a buble type tool. Still, I'm pleased with the results, even if the blending on this one was hard on my hand. I used air brushes, pastels, chalks, blending tools, and adjusted them to get the effects of this painting. Not a manipulated photo, painted from a blank canvas.

this is so cute, and your art work is outstanding also love coral painter but wouldnt know where to start to paint like this

Artist Reply: Lots of daily practice and studying from looking. I scroll up my work often to see goofs I am making and work on it. I split screen if there are refernce photos to work from as well for better accuracy with lighting and porportining features. Always trying new mixes of brushes, blenders, and mediums as well. Doing bubbles were the hardest for me in this one. I did them all one at a time, and without a bublbe effect to help. It helped me begin to learn to work on them. Still am in other works, as many have noticed. LOL

Hah look likes someone is having fun.

Artist Reply: Thank you! She is a wonderful baby. Not even being partial, I worked with hundreds of babies in my day jobs over the years. She is such a happy sweet girl.

Sooo cute!! I just want to pick her up and huggle her! Except..ya know, she'd be dripping wet all over me. Mabey after a towel is around her. ^__^

Artist Reply: Thanks TIff! She had so much fun, it was hard to get her out. She'd stayed in all day if we had let her.

I love the way a baby enjoys a bath.

Artist Reply: Thank you! I do as well. It makes i so much easier. In the warmer parts of the year, I used o give my babies a sink bath after eating messing foods. I jus t have to watch out when the figure out what the sprayer hose is as they start spraying it madly everywhere.

This is so precious!

Artist Reply: Thank you Lucia! She is so funny some times, I am putting together a little book for her with some of my paintings of her since she was born. She loves to get in my computer chair and play with my keyboard and recognizes family portraits such as herself. She sees one of hers and says,"Cute".

Very good! With that light beaming down I'm reminded of "cleanliness is next Godliness". Great photo manipulation of a little angel!

Artist Reply: Thank you Tree. She is a little angel. This one took me 4 hours to paint, using a split screen so I could look at the photo I had take as I worked on areas. I couldn't figure out whow to make her look wet and make bubbles for a while. This one isn't a photo manipulation, I use layers of airbrush, pastels, chalks, and then blend areas for hours to get a smoother look to it. It's good training for me to learn to do it the hard way. The bubbles took me an hour to do. I was so tempted to just use a photo program bublle effect, but used aribrush and blend with grainy water blending tools.
