Atlantis Record Cover Art

Here is the original painting, hanging in the office of the Producer of the Record in Santa Cruz, California. This was painted on a panel 4 x 8 feet for both the front and back jacket. At the time, it seemed quite large. Now I am working on projects that are 400 square feet. (notice the use of the clone tool everywhere ) kidding.

Intricate and detailed.... but still packs a wallop to the eye! Fantastic work! Attended a presentation by muralist Matt Myers yesterday... fantastic works and some huge. Wondered if you knew him or if muralists were acquainted with each other. The world is shrinking fast....

Artist Reply: Thanks for your thoughts. No, havent had the pleasure of meeting Matt. But I will do a google and check out his stuff. No doubt he is quite proficient. The larger projects are in a smaller playing field, this is true.

The most fascinating work what I ever seen about Atlantis! Simply perfect in mind evolution and stunning fabulous art!!!!!

Artist Reply: well thats a compliment that might be over the top...but hey, its been a long week (I'll take it and smile). You are too kind though. If you want to see an amazing journey into the heart of Atlantis... check out the art of Andrew Annenberg. Perhaps the world's finest artist in oceanic fantasy art.

That is what I love so much about your art John: you can create the more "Old fashioned painting and also a modern free style. In every case they are master works. I wrote it before, I am a very big fan of your art.

Artist Reply: thanks for your kind words Thea, this is a painting done back in the 80's, so you gotta expect the subject matter and style to evolve a bit over time! Also, the client had a large say in what I painted, and he wanted a sci fi scenario packed from top to bottom with detail. I guess he figured it was more bang for his buck. That one took me about a month to finish.
