Remember the Children

This blue portrait of this young boy was completed with a ballpoint pen! I have been drawing with a ballpoint from 1968 or for the past thirty-eight years. Thousands of sketches or drawings were completed within that time span. Practice certainly works or helped me develop plus provides enjoyment to my life.***** Many people have not seen what a ballpoint can do as an art medium which is odd seeing that over one hundred billion pens have been sold by Bic. However, many other people have drawn with them and some of those are surfacing here on this WWW over the past several years. Over the past year or so I have seen many fantastic fractal, digital or computer oriented artworks done here at ArtWanted! I therefore decided to see what an ink drawing would look like after processing it through my computer and this is what came out.***** I am doing this picture because of its emotional impact. Remembering how great most of us have it year in and year out compared to million around the world is very important. Many children have to deal with poverty, starvation, abuse, slavery, illiteracy or loneliness while we feast this Christmas season. May we all be very thankful for what we have or those things yet to arrive. Counting our blessings not our sorrows certainly seems in order this day or everyday!***** I would like to thank you kind folks for the thousands of wonderful comments pertaining to my artworks with ArtWanted. Each and every reply or comment means much to me and my loved ones. May all of you have a blessed day, appreciate what we have or how AW publishes us worldwide! Hopefully, people will reach out to others with love, peace, gratitude and respect throughout life. Your friend and fellow artist, Jerry Stith.

it's pretty amazing the depth you can get w/ a ballpoint pen. i like to use all sorts of non-traditional materials, especially things commonly found around the house or office. it's fun to test the limits, & you certainly did. great job.
