Medusa has always been one of my favorite characters from Greek mythology. This was a pencil sketch I had been working on since before the holidays that I added some ink and white colored pencil to and finally finished. Hope you like.
Hello Steve Farr out!! How are you? Yes, long time no see I'm afraid. I'm currently reovering from a knee replacement operation. Ouch!! However, it's good to see that you're going full speed ahead and giving into your creative urges. I particularly like this picture. It has a flavour of Aubrey Beardsley about it. The naughty late Victorian artist who was famous for wonderful black and white ilustrations, 'Salome' and Oscar Wilde's 'Yellow Book'. This picture is uniquely you and has great charisma. Very effective and utterly delightful! Brilliant!
Artist Reply: Hello Rusty! So great to hear from you, my friend! That operation sounded painful, hope you're up and back on your feet soon!! You know, now I'm gonna have to read up on this "Aubrey Beardsly" person, I never heard of! Thanks for enlightening me!! ^_^
Yes, I like it very much, Steve! It's the real Medusa! I love your style with beautiful free lines and so much detail. You're very good with ink and pencil.
Artist Reply: Hello Anneke!!! Thanks so much for you wonderful comments!!! Take care!!
Hey Steve, that is one cool looking Medusa, great linework in black & white. Think she looks more sexy than scary -threatening, tho...but, aha! that just may be the lure!.....I really like the way you extended the swirls of her deadly locks all throughout to the edge of the composition, too.
Artist Reply: Hey Kathryn!! Great to hear from you as always! Your insightful comments are welcome anytime!! Take care!! ^_^
