"UNLOVED"
It's so sad to witness,
decay's taking hold,
It's building materials,
Now return to the fold,
Walls are leaning,
Back's now broke,
No cheerful fire,
Nor chimney smoke,
Somebody lived here,
Who?, I don't know,
I find myself wondering,
Why did they go?,
But gone is their laughter,
So are their tears,
As are their hopes,
And also their fears,
For now the old house,
Is no more than a shell,
Where ghosts and their memories,
Doubtless still dwell.
Terry Bassett.

Whenever I see old houses like these that are slowly decaying, I also wonder about the history of the place. WHo lived, loved, and possibly died there? It's totally up to the imagination (or research, if you are really interested). Great, sentimental images, Terry!william maldonado 19 Dec 2006
