This is a pen & ink still life I did for art class. Most of it is stimpling and cross hatching. I did alter some of it in photoshop cs2, but only to give it texture and glow for the candle flames. I did this in honor of the Mother Goddess. Blessed Be!

This is my first pen & ink so be gentle!

Hi Valerie. Looks like you can easily handle stippling. Your values are spot on. With Pen & Ink the common problem tends to be going too dark, but I feel you managed to achieve to right balance. I have to admit that the subject isn't my cup of tea, but thats me. To answer your question, I think you should definately do more Pen & Ink. You really seem to have the eye for it. Take care, Ethan

Artist Reply: Thank you so much Ethan from your detailed and heartfelt comment. I truly appreciate it! As for "an eye for it"...I had to use a sewer's magnifying glass for some of it to get really up close. :) I will definitely be putting another pen & ink on my list to do. I will probably scale down in size though. ;)

Artist Reply: Thank you so much! This was an open art assignment for a still life and this was the first thing that popped in my head, screaming for me to draw. I feel the mother is proud!
