© 2007 Armando Salas and Editorial La Capital.--- Cover for Nordesía magazine, published yesterday. NORDESIA is the weekly magazine published every Sunday by the newspaper Diario de Ferrol. They publish an article about Manuel de la Cruz (nickname: "Sopiñas" ="little soups":-))). This guy, a rich man, was a merchant by day and a bandit by night. He "worked" in this area in 1820-1830 until Colonel Zumalacárregui put him (and 40 members of his gang) in jail. He was a very cruel guy: he tortured his victims by using boiling oil.

Very cool image and story, well drawn too. It's the coloring that i like so much,.... :O)!!! About the story,...just shows how crooks eventually get caught,...and every deed, good and bad, gets rewarded or punished for by the Lord in the end.

Artist Reply: Thank you, Gregg. Coloring is done in Photoshop, by using the mouse and few gradients. I've a Wacom but no patience to learn how to use it. The result is not the same, but I usually am satisfied.
Artist Reply: Forgot to say: this illustration was done in CMYK, the format used by my publisher. I prefer RGB because the pastel colors are more neat and brilliant, but...
