Enjoying the good times and weathering the bad in our lives is the message I wanted to convey in this painting. It struck me while painting it how much our everyday lives are filled with beautfiful days, and not so beautiful ones. I even thought of how it applies to the twin fishing boats basking in the summer sun in this southern Maine harbor. If you have never been to Maine, I assure you it's well worth the trip, especially for an artist.
