In this painting I wanted to create a dramatic mood surrounding the Statue of Liberty. The rays of sunlight streaming down from the heavens appear to also eminate from the torch. The clearing skies to the right of the painting represent a brighter future within our borders contrasted by the dark and threatening skies outside our borders. I also used part of the verse from the song, "God Bless America" for the title.
