We as adults, must teach our children well to be happy and thankful,to have faith in themselves. We can accomplish through positive THOUGHTS, using positive WORDS and by positive ACTIONS. Then war will leave the planet.

This picture is so moving, it's very tough and it expresses so well the desperation of war, the death, the horror of it.. A masterpiece..

So true, I can feel the anguish in this piece, very highly emotive. Truly an excellent statement on the state of the world.

The colors on this one are magnificent. It reminds me of the dehumanization album cover from the crucifix.

the scream!

Greg Dubois 13 Oct 2007

Ahh'! That key is elusive isn't it, I mean the key itself is a simple single object (love) but so difficult to apply unconditionally it seems! Warchild reminds me of this elusiveness ad what can result when the key is lost.

Valarie Connell 04 Sep 2007

WOW! This can also represent the existential funk that we feel at some point in our lives...the scream for release done inward or outward. (at least that is the first thing I thought of ;) Wonderful job!

David Holcombe 21 Jun 2007

This captures some of the violence and terror of war. You use brutal colors which contrast with one another. The face reflects some of the misery of war's effect on women and children. It has a touch of German expressionism about it.

Artist Reply: David: thank you! Wonderful comment and I hope a painting like this will open hearts to stop stupid behaviour of adults! X

Mark Peterson 21 Jun 2007

Moving work Annette and even thought ,if more people devoted themselves to the artist within themselves , and developed their creativity , it would be more peace on earth !!! And every child could grow up in a wonderful world !!! Great work , bravo!!!:-)

Petra Wohlwerth 17 Jun 2007

Really good, very expressive. Your statement is also very good. I agree with you.

Gerald Van Scyoc 09 Jun 2007

Love this piece. I hope, someday, to bring my own work up to this level.

julie Marks 04 Jun 2007

You visual artistry is so well paired with your hopeful and very meaningful words. There is so much agony and misery inflicted on innocent children and animals on this planet that it is painful to contemplate. Your bold and emotionally affecting work strikes a deep chordfor those who are willing to stop denying the atrocities of war and the destruction to our planet, especially for the future of our childred. Wonderful work Annette!

Renata Cavanaugh 30 May 2007

Very expressive. Excellent

Nora Blansett 25 May 2007

This piece is both beautiful and heartbreaking. The shocking use of colours makes such a bold statement when combined with the raw terror and misery on her face...

Carrie Ann Watson 03 May 2007

Beautiful work for peace! Very stirring! :)

Charles Jones 11 Apr 2007

The world is only as 'whole' as its people; we are made up almost entirely of fragmented personas. This translates into fragmented bodies via violence. If the evolution to peace is ever to occur in any meaningful way, it must involve our learning to 'see' and then 'interpret' our priorities differently. I truly believe artists to be at the forefront of this movement. Excellent expressive work, Annette.

Doris B. Lambling 11 Apr 2007

deep touching and thought provoking!!!!!!!!!!

Carliss Mora 07 Apr 2007

Annette this is my pick of the day, because not only does it exemplify the horror of war, what you say with the art carries a most significant and powerful message. Now, if we can just convey that to the ones who control the nations' participation in it.

Hanna Stawska 01 Apr 2007
