In Memory

(08-02) 14:05 PDT OAKLAND -- Chauncey Bailey, 57, editor of the Oakland Post and a former reporter for the Oakland Tribune, was shot to death today on a downtown Oakland street in what police described as a targeted killing. Mayor Ron Dellums issued a statement saying, "Chauncey will be missed. He was at every media event and he always asked the first question. His questions were thoughtful and you knew that he sought to truly inform the public."

Such a beautiful tribute June...that's the balance...to keep the faith in times of such senseless tragedy...when it's hardest and you need it most.

Artist Reply: Thank you, Laurie. I love the way you put that, however I just watched more of what happened on the news and I'm also very angry...guess that's part of the grief process

Artist Reply: Thank you, Olga. It's one of my favorite places, Jenner, CA...where the river meets the ocean.

Such a sad story behind this beautiful image.

Artist Reply: Out of tragedy sometimes comes knowledge and the need to have a deeper faith...that's what I was trying to say. It's one of my favorite spots--Jenner, CA where the river meets the sea. It's about as close to heaven as one can get on earth...

fantastic image and words June just awesome advice

Artist Reply: Thank you, Jamie. Out of tragedy sometimes comes a deeper faith and understanding of what life is about. But I'm grieving even though I haven't seen him in many, many years.
