Carl Sandburg in Blue/Crayon/2007

This is a quick study of the poet Carl Sandburg. I was playing with my 2 year old and sketched this out in about 15 minutes with his midnight blue RoseArt crayon. I wanted to see what kind of a range of value I could get with an inexpensive crayon.

This looks fantastic Ari. Only 15 minutes work and it has the look of a finished, polished drawing.

Artist Reply: Roger, I think the nice thing I discovered about working with a crayon is that it is fast. It covers well with broad strokes so that one can finish quickly. Thank you for the comment. I appreciate you taking the time to look at it. Ari
