This is a digital painting I did from some beautiful flowers I have in my patio garden. I had gotten a couple of these for this summer, and am happy that they will bloom next year as well. I planted them in large pots so I can move them when I move again. The blooms are so full of ripples of petals it's easy to mistake this for other flowers. Yet, I peeked inside to see if it had the stamen as all hibiscus do, and it does. While not a scented blossom, it sure makes up with it's incredible showy blooms. I hope to get more of these in more color varieties in the future. This is a digital painting, not a photo shopped work. It is not a manipulation. I used an electronic drawing graphics tablet, a Wacom. It hooks up to your computer and has a wireless stylus pen that you hold and move across the tablet. Using art software, my favorite, Corel's Painter X, I chose the brushes, colors, mediums etc. I love that I can mix mediums that would not normally be able to use together. I used oils, watercolors, pastels, and others and blended them to get the results I have.
