River and I contributed to the "beaten down" ground a great deal, so did some coyotes and deer who live around there. :) I met one other wolf around here another time - they don't trust me enough to let me meet the whole pack yet: perhaps one day.... :)
It is such a great experience meeting this elusive canines. I grew up in northern Minnesota where wolf packs were everywhere, but so rarely got sight of them. When I did, and had the chance to look into their eyes, it was a truly spiritual moment. Thank you so much for sharing this image and your experiences with us, Terri.

I'm glad you can relate! I've been "raised" with David Mech's wolf books and research and am obsessed with wolves. :)
