This is a fantastic photo of one of my favorite animals. Really looks like he has tracked the ground up or there werer many more there before him.

Artist Reply: Thank you for the comment! River and I contributed to the "beaten down" ground a great deal, so did some coyotes and deer who live around there. :) I met one other wolf around here another time - they don't trust me enough to let me meet the whole pack yet: perhaps one day.... :)

It is such a great experience meeting this elusive canines. I grew up in northern Minnesota where wolf packs were everywhere, but so rarely got sight of them. When I did, and had the chance to look into their eyes, it was a truly spiritual moment. Thank you so much for sharing this image and your experiences with us, Terri.

Artist Reply: Oh, thank you Cher! I'm glad you can relate! I've been "raised" with David Mech's wolf books and research and am obsessed with wolves. :)

Terri, I adore your friends. I can see how hard it would be to leave these wonderful animals in your own immense backyard. It is so amazing to see them in their own habitat without the threat of humans wanting to hunt them or eat them for dinner. It never ceases to amaze me how cruel humans can be to these sentient creatures. They should live with them and have to earn their survival and see what life is like in their paws. There should be strict laws for people who kill or abuse animals. Your photographs are magnificent that any animal lover would be envious of living with animals that are not caged in unnatural environments to enjoy their lives. Wolves are so loyal mating for life and deeply mourning when they lose of their partner. Humans have a lot to learn from animals and I wish they would "listen and learn."

Artist Reply: Thank you Julie! :) I had to drive for hours and trek even longer to see him! :) I am still thrilled by the experience. Hopefully gradually when I am truly his friend n his eyes, he'll take me to see his pack. I never wanted to leave! :)

Love that one paw raised as he's howling. Gives emphasis. What a magnificent creature. How wonderful it must be to live where you can actually see these animals in the wild. Thanks for sharing these great images.

Artist Reply: Thank you Delores! :) The lucky thing is that we still have vast wilderness in Canada. :)
