Girl by the stove

This is a 5 1/2 inch doll I made in porcelain. It was inspired by an image on a Russian lacquer box.

that is amazing!!! you do incredible work. just fantastic. do you do all of the bead work and making of the clothes and such! what wonderful hands you have!

Artist Reply: Thank you, Denise, for your kind words. First, I pour the doll using my mold in porcelain. Then, it gets fired at very high temperatures in my kiln. After that I start china painting. It takes at least five more firings. At last, I dress the doll. Yes, I hand sew all the clothing using fine silks and laces. I used tiny .3 mm micro beads for her head piece, and glued bead one by one. Stove was made from glass tiles.
