This is one of the bridge's over Claude Monet's Water Lily Pond in Giverny, France. When my daughter & I were in Paris, France, we spent an afternoon at Claude Monet's house, gardens and water lily ponds in Giverny. I took lots of photos and have since painted many paintings using my photos. Did you know that Claude Monet created his water lily pond so that he could paint it? This painting is sold.

More than just a simple bridge, You've captured an environment. If Monet created the pond so he could paint it, its the ultimate in setting a stage with props. One might say the pond for the sake of art, is a work in itself.Olga van Dijk 10 Jul 2008

Nice photo. Poor Monet was nearly blind from cataracts when he painted many of his famous water lily series. I must confess that his paintings are more beautiful than the original. But that's the transforming magic of art, n'est-ce pas?michelle olson 11 May 2008
