Portrait of Amadanius Brommel.

Portrait of Amadanius Brommel. Oil on wooden board. Conducted 1632. Signed and dated by Felix Fiigenschou. Although the knowledge about the Feline Era is a field that has seen a magnificent progress over the last few years, this character, from the high society of 17th. century Christiania is a bit of a mystery. From an uncertain, and not fully reliable source, we are being told the story of a rather unfortunate cat person possessing an obnoxious personality that brought upon him the misfortune of being repositioned from an important job in Christiania to the remote island of Svalbard in the Artic. According to the records, said to copied from some documents that vanished during the closing of the 2nd WW, he had difficulties adjusting to his surroundings, and was also found guilty of several economical crimes. This small portrait of the insane crimnal cat Amadanius Brommel, was once the possession of a restaurant in Haugesund. The frame is heavily damaged and probably secondary to the work. The painting is otherwise in rather good contition. Sold
