Daisy Smiles

Original digital painting, not an altered or manipulated photograph. My German Shorthair Pointer, Daisy, a rescued dog who, when she came to us, had worms, a severe infection, and was about 20 lbs. underweight. She was hunkering at the back of her pen at the place where she had been taken in some months before. Now, with her special friend Allegra and her other friends here, she often smiles. Aside from wanting to eat everything in sight, she is one of the sweetest dogs in the world, extraordinarily smart, and the most athletic dog I've ever seen. She is sleek and glossy and bounds with energy- finally a well and happy creature. I can't imagine who could have just thrown her out on the street. Conditions at the rescue organization, however, were probably worse than when she was homeless- she almost died there. Thank goodness we found her in time.
