sieze the day

(c) 1971, Elton Houck. "SIEZE THE DAY" clay sculpture mounted on carved wood base. The figure is clay and the base redwood. The work is approx.-- tHE CHIPMONK IS NOT PART OF MY ART, BUT ONLY A PART OF MY BOOKS IN THE BACKGROUND..BUT TOGETHER THE TWO ARE A BIT FUNNY...3.5" height X 3.5" length X 1.5 " width. Ths piece sits in my book case above my computer in my art room...It makes me chuckle when I see the picture of the chipmonk reaching for the sky and my sculptured clay man joining him in this ritual. I hope this adds a touch of laughter to your day too...

I've learned that ground squirrels are great fans of the Chicago Style Manual and here's the photo evidence that proves the point - nice one Elton ~:0))

Artist Reply: Right Chas, the little varmit refused to pose unless I PLACED A COPY NEAR HIM.
