Artist Reply: Anneke, Thank you. I think it is because I used oil and pastel on sanded wallis pastel paper.
this is beautiful Joan,I think the under painting gives it that special zing,I have used a wet pastel under painting for pastels but not an oil,it came out great.
Artist Reply: ruth, thank you. I used wet pastel also, but I think the oil gives it a clearer cleaner picture. The colors don't get muddy.
