Perceptions 2

Last night I went to visit my Fiance at the Forest Fire Station that he was working at. As we were walking around the station I saw some of his and his firefighter's gear hanging on the engine. It just goes to show how different people's perceptions can be of things. Where they saw basically nothing (well, maybe preparedness!), I saw hard work, heroism, harsh conditions and a dedication to a job that most people can't handle emotionally or physically. Some of these people have no concept of how they are perceived by others. They do the job because of their love for it, not to gain status in the public's eyes. This shot and Perceptions 2 are dedicated to my friends and co-workers at the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection but mostly it is dedicated to my Fiance Jeff - you are my hero.
