Artist Reply: This painting is done on handmade rice paper. When watercolor is applied, your line drawings disappear and the paper becomes transparent. I prefer not to use a hairdryer so you have to work fast and blow on the section you are working on to keep the color from unwanted spreading. For the most part you won't know what you have until you are done. Thank you for your comments.
