I painted this for my mother in law's wedding present in 2002. Her favorite place to go, when we lived in San Francisco and she came to visit, was across the street in Golden Gate Park next to this old windmill. She often said that she would love to have a good picture of it to take back to Oregon with her. So one night at the full moon I went down there and took a long exposure photo using 100 ISO film to throw off the color balance. It came out just like this. Instead of printing and framing the photo I decided to paint it. We gave the painting to her and her husband at their wedding as a gift. She was very touched.
