Popular fiction, especially movies, portray men tough as iron who perform impossible tasks with ease, win the ladies and are respected by all. In reality, we are rather less robust, subject to the vagaries of time and disease. I can think of several macho leading men who met with sad and painful deaths. Steve McQueen and Humphrey Bogart come to mind. There are, of course, others. Think of all the otherwise hardy individuals who fell prey to the corona virus in the early days of the pandemic. So we are much more delicate than we'd like to believe. This is a 6 by 4 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. Original Jones Art is always contemplating mortality here in northwest Austin, Texas.

Cool one Charles ! would make an interesting 3D : ) Hope you're doing well this Thursday , Think I'll read some Ernest Hemingway ....

Artist Reply: Yes, it might be an interesting 3D project, Dave. BUT, I'd have to rethink my compound with so many slender parts. I drew a variation of this idea called Tender Tendril that I have framed and in the living room. It might prove easier to 'translate' to 3D. Hope all is going well. :)

Yes my friend, we do have moments as men where we feel delicate and vulnerable in our lives! But stay strong Charles! We are still kicking

Artist Reply: Thanks, Mark! I may be kicking still but most definitely not as high as I used to. Doing lots of drawing lately, so that's a positive. I just drew three characters with hats, which is a first. Take care. :)
