The original sketch had a hole in its left temple but that changed with time. I thought 'ventilated' rather than 'hole in the head' at some point when the current title came to me. It's a play on words which, if you've been paying attention, I really enjoy. It is made of my custom compound, floral foam, newsprint and a bit of plastic (in the hole.) The piece is 13 inches tall and the base is 6 inches in diameter. This is Original Jones Art, none too elated, in northwest Austin, Texas.

This is like the potatoe heads we made as a kid. Very cute!

Artist Reply: Well, Laura, if I may, 'cute' isn't the first adjective that comes to my mind, but I'll take it. Yes, the old 'Potato Head' isn't what it used to be mid-20th. He was number 8 in a series of 9 last year. Hope all is going well with you and yours. :)

Expressive! The royal brow give the gentleman a limey look to his green eye reflecting three greenery of the coastal hills, while his right eye's scanning the boundless blue of the ocean. With the third eye removed and only its hole remaining, the previous two would seem quite enough not to miss anything important in both directions. Be well, Charles!

Artist Reply: I had to do away with the 'golden dowel' method because of weight concerns, Dave. So I decided on a neck as an alternative. That seems to have worked fairly well. That eyebrow isn't black. It's more a Prussian blue. The tubing in the hole is a bit of plastic tubing I found in the yard recently. Hope it's a great day in old Chicago. :)
