Wild Columbine, Aqulegia canadensis, ceramic tile

Wild columbine are among my favorite native plants. A scenic drive west of Madison led to my family's traditional wild columbine viewing spot. They grew all along rocky outcroppings on the twisting old Highway 23 leading out of Wyoming Valley (near Spring Green, WI, NOT Wyoming State). A new "improved" road now bypasses this spot but there are a lot of other spots to view this beautiful native plant. A cluster of columbine flowers from my garden make up the original design on this tile, created from my own photographs.
